This is a tour series which began in 2005 and will be offered each year leading up to and past 2012, the end of the Mayan calendar. This year we travel through the beautiful states of Tabasco and Chiapas, welcomed by the Maya Teachers of Light who invite us to awaken the Maya Spirit within. Immersing ourselves in Mother Nature’s grandeur, we connect with the Divine Mother who has called us to once again perform her Sacred Rituals in harmony. At the Maya’s sacred ceremonial centres, we help open the spiritual gateways to all those who wish to return to the Mayan consciousness of love and wisdom. Mayan prophecies foretell that at the end of the Mayan Calendar, all humankind will return to the land of the Maya to understand the Great Maya Spirit which lies within all of us. Together we will awaken the Serpent of Wisdom within, linking us to the knowledge of the stars and the blessing forces of our Divine Mother, Ixchel, so that we may see the beauty of life and the sacredness of every being in the universe.

We begin at Comalcalco, one of the earliest and most unique Maya sites, where we, as the Maya before us, will be initiated into the cosmic wisdom to prepare us for our journey. Leaving Tabasco behind, we travel into Chiapas and wind our way through the breathtaking Cañon del Sumidero where we truly feel Mother Earth at her grandest. Enveloped by the sights and sounds of nature and all that surrounds us, we are able to fully open ourselves to the great Maya Spirit and connect to this sacred consciousness. In San Cristóbal de Las Casas, San Juan Chamula, and Zinacantan we connect with the past and the present Maya all at once. In these towns, the spirit of the Maya is palpable; the traditions and culture lingering through the passion and pride of the people.

At Toniná, Palenque, and Yaxchilán we revisit the ancient Maya and connect with their spirit through their sacred ceremonial centres and art. At these sites we will wind our way up to the heavens and spiral down to the underworld to understand the great cycles of life - birth, death and rebirth. The energies that resound here will shed light on our own vision quests and assist us with our individual paths in this life. They will enlighten us and educate us so that we, as the Maya, can find our own truth to fulfill our destinies. To conclude our journey, we return to engross ourselves in the power, serenity and beauty of Mother Nature at Misol Ha. Here, enveloped by the thunderous roar of the falls, we will hear the spirit of the Maya echoing all around us, awakening the Maya Spirit that lies within us all.

Please join us on this transformational journey, but please book early to avoid disappointment. Today we begin our journey with a visit to the Mayan site of Comalcalco, one of the earliest and westernmost known Maya settlements set in the lush green hills of Tabasco’s countryside. The name Comalcalco means “The House of Comals” deriving from the words “comal”, which is an iron pan used to make tortillas, and “calli”, which means house or temple. It is a very unique site built with a very distinct construction. While most Maya sites were built by stone, Comalcalco was built using fired clay bricks that were held together with mortar made from oyster shells. Many of the bricks include iconography and hieroglyphs carved into the bricks themselves. One structure, the Great Acropolis, features a stucco mask of Kinich Ahau, the Sun God. Here, at one of the Maya’s earliest sites, we return to the “beginning”. We visit the temple where the ancient Maya were initiated into the cosmic wisdom to gather for our Opening Ceremony and our own initiation where we will be welcomed into the mystical lands of the Maya for the commencement of our own personal journey.

On our way back to Villahermosa we visit a Hacienda de Cacao to learn all about chocolate and hopefully taste some too! For the ancient Maya, cacao was as precious as gold and was once also used as a form of currency. Today, the Maya still consider it a remarkable health food rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and an excellent source of energy.

This morning we leave Villahermosa and travel to the state of Chiapas where we immerse ourselves in the breathtaking Cañon del Sumidero. On our leisurely boat ride through the spectacular canyon we can admire Mother Nature at her grandest as we gaze at the rocky cliffs and walls that rise to a height of 4900 ft. Along the water’s edge, you can make out the interesting rock formations, spot hidden caves and beautiful waterfalls, and witness an ever-changing panorama of plants and trees. The grandeur of the canyon with its towering cliffs invokes the mystery of our lives and what river of consciousness brought us here to experience the spirit of the Maya. After finding our perfect spot, we will join in circle to perform a sacred Maya Ceremony to connect with the Ancients, the elements, and the “Water Dragon” elemental called “Kan-Hel”. After paying homage to Mother Earth, we travel on to San Cristóbal de Las Casas which will be our base for the next three nights.

This evening we enjoy our First Lecture with Richard, Past Life Connection and Future Vision, where he will present information on past lives and reincarnation. Did the Maya know of reincarnation? Did many of their higher teachers incarnate on Earth directly from the Pleiades, or even travel regularly back and forth on the “serpent ropes” of energy? Are we reincarnated Maya? During the lecture, Richard will share stories of reincarnation and may even do some on-the-spot evaluations of our significant past lives!

San Cristóbal de Las Casas is a wonderful colonial city and a living museum. Its tranquil and welcoming atmosphere, along with its creative bohemian flair, makes this a favourite city of travellers from around the globe. The colonial streets and lanes are lined by charming buildings with red-tiled roofs and white-washed walls, and the alleyways open up into picturesque plazas featuring colonial architecture and housing old churches, museums, cafés, restaurants and handicraft shops. Here we can experience the past and the present all at once. Feel the spirits of the ancient Maya that are alive in the people today and rekindle your own memories of a possible past Mayan life.

Today we delight in a full day to experience this beautiful city. We will visit the Museum of Jade and the Museum of Amber, enjoy a walking tour of the historic centre, and then relish some independent time to stroll, shop, mingle with the locals, or just relax.

This morning we make a brief stop in town to buy flowers for our offerings of the day. We then journey to the charming town of San Juan Chamula. Here the main highlight is the Church of San Juan. Filled with colourful candles and burning copal, you instantly feel you are in sacred Maya space. It truly is a feeling that cannot be described; it must be felt. The Maya which reside in this area still hold true to their ancient traditions, maintaining their own laws, Tzotzil and Tzeltal languages, and unique style of dress, offering us a wonderful cultural experience and strong connection to the Maya Spirit.

Next we explore Zinacantan, which means “land of the bats”. In Maya times, bats were considered sacred. They were the guardians of the temples, mysteries, and hidden wisdom.

To this day, the women of this village comb their hair in a way which emulates the bat in honour of these sacred guardians. As the area is renowned for its weavings, we will visit the home of a weaver to admire the colourful handiworks and pick up some wonderful gifts and souvenirs.

San Juan Chamula in Mexico

This morning we leave San Cristóbal de Las Casas and head to the Mayan site of Toniná, built on the side of a hill and offering a fabulous view of the Ocosingo Valley. Toniná or “Tun-i-nah”, means “the precious stone temples of the mother”. This ceremonial centre was dedicated to the Mayan teachers and the nine levels of heaven. Here we will explore the labyrinth where the ancient ones performed their rituals of initiation and learn about the sacred symbolism and cycles of human life. As we wind our way up the labyrinth, we will make our way up to the sky to connect with the heavens. We will also visit the wonderful museum, with its many great works of Mayan art. After lunch we make our way to Palenque for the evening and prepare for our visit the next day.

This evening we enjoy our Second Lecture with Richard, The Maya Cosmology of Evolution, Atlantis and Ancient Races. What are the connections of Ancient Races, Atlantis and the Maya? What did those ancient races know about the great cycles of time and the evolution/de-evolution of consciousness? How did the Mayans know to place symbolic glyphs and artifacts into stone that have many meanings? Some glyphs we have deciphered, but there are many more “layers” to Mayan wisdom teachings that we have yet to “discover” as our consciousness becomes more capable. How can we understand these teachings in the past, tune into the higher Maya mind, and realize our future vision?
(Overnight in Palenque at the Villa Mercedes Palenque)

Toniná in Mexico

Today we spend a glorious day exploring the fascinating site of Palenque, considered the “Royal University of Art”, to connect with the spirit of the Maya through their creativity and works of art. Known as “Bàak'” in modern Maya, the original name of the site was “Nah-Chan-Kaan”, meaning “The House of the Serpent in the Infinite”. We begin our visit with an official ceremony led by Miguel Angel and then tour the main structures of the site. We will admire the famous tomb of the Maya Master, Pacal Votan, with its intricate carvings of the Tree of Life and the Mayan Underworld. Here Miguel Angel will explain the sacred symbolism carved into the stone and discuss the Tree of Life and how it relates to the cycles of birth, death and rebirth. We break for lunch within the site and then enjoy some free time for private meditation and exploration to connect with the energies of the site on our own.

Palenque in Mexico

An early start today as we head to the ancient site of Yaxchilán hidden among dense foliage. We stop for breakfast in the jungle and then make our way to the Usumacinta River, which acts as a border between Mexico and Guatemala. Here we board boats and enjoy an exciting ride along the river as we sit back and revel in the stunning scenery that encompasses us.

Upon arrival we disembark and begin our exploration of this fascinating site. Yaxchilán is considered the “The Place of the First Prophets”; many prophecies and sacred calendars originated from this special place. In ancient times the Maya Priestesses performed bloodletting rituals here to connect with the “Vision Serpent” and receive its wisdom, which is represented in the lintels found within the site. Monolithic carved stelae can also be found, some depicting the story about the end of the Mayan Calendar. As we examine the wonderful carvings and learn about the vision quests of the ancient Maya, we can ponder our individual vision quests. Allow this connection with the ancients to shed light on your own personal journey. After our visit we return by boat to Frontera Corozal for a late lunch and the return to Palenque for the night.

This evening we enjoy our Third Lecture with Richard, Mayan Cosmology and the Energy Grid of the Galactic Centre-Solar System-Pleiadian Axis of Consciousness. After having visited Yaxchilán, the birthplace of Mayan prophecies, we will focus our attention on the stars tonight. Why did the Maya study the heavens? Why was this race of beings so obsessed with a time period (2012) that was over a thousand years in their future? Listen to the unfolding cosmology of Mayan calendars, astronomy and the meaning of the end of a great cycle, the solar alignment to the Galactic Centre and the anti-centre of the Pleiades. What tools did the Maya use to understand the movement of planets, stars and our galaxy? In this lecture, Richard will discuss Mayan Astronomy, how its focus was on the evolution of consciousness, how our own energy bodies are a holographic representation of the Galactic Centre and how to understand and activate our consciousness connection.

Yaxchilán in Mexico

For our final day of exploration we come full circle to once again connect with Mother Nature and visit the stunning waterfalls of Misol Ha, known as the “Tail of the Jaguar”. Enveloped by the thunderous roars of the breathtaking falls, we will perform a ritual to activate our 7 chakras and connect with the heart of Mother Water. We then climb the watery steps to enter the source, a cave hidden behind the falls, where we gather for a special meditation. Invigorated and rejuvenated by the element of water, we bid farewell to Misol Ha and enjoy our Farewell Lunch before heading back to Villahermosa for the evening.
