Return to the Land of the Maya is part of our Maya Sacred Path to 2012 series of spiritual journeys, focusing on key aspects of Mayan teachings and select Mayan sacred sites.
This year we will visit sites such as Uxmal, the Palace of Sayil, Labna, Chichen Itza, and more. We will participate in special ceremonies to connect with the sacred sites we visit, and learn about Maya wisdom and culture. We will make new friends as we travel through this illuminating land and grow spiritually as learn how ancient wisdom can still guide us today.
For our 2006 journey we will be joined by Miguel Angel Vergara Calleros, our teacher of the Maya Wisdom, who will lead us in sacred ceremonies and share the wisdom of the ancients he has gathered through his in-depth studies and vast experiences. Also joining us is Dr. Richard Jelusich, whose passion for, and connection with the Mayan world, have kept him returning to this wondrous land many times over. He too will share the insights and wisdom he has gathered from his experiences and will also lead us in discussion with informative evening lectures.
Please note that it is not required that you commit to every year in the Maya Sacred Path to 2012 program, you may join us for one or more journeys as you please. Each tour is a stand-alone program.
Are you ready to join us on this spiritual travel program to the land of the Maya?
We start our journey in the historic city of Merida, now the capital of the Yucatan. Here we will meet our tour leaders and our fellow travellers as we set off on this life-changing adventure.
We then travel to Uxmal, a cosmic university where the Priestesses, Vestals, Astronomers, Artists, Scribes, Midwives and Healers received knowledge from the Master Teachers leading them to become: “Ix Kukuulkaan” or “Women of the Cosmic Knowledge”. The site has some of the most beautiful temples and pyramids in all Mesoamerica such as the Quadrangle of the Nuns, the Governor’s Palace, and the Pyramid of the Dwarf of Uxmal. Moving south from Uxmal we journey to the Palace of Sayil, with its great palace located at the end of a Sacbe.
Our journey continues to the ceremonial site of Labná where we will walk along the Sacbe and through a beautifully decorated Mayan arch, considered a gateway to another dimension. Here we will connect once again with the energies of Mother Earth. We then visit Chichen Itza, and marvel at its Observatory, the Temple of Warriors and the Kukulkan Pyramid. Miguel will explain the significance of this impressive site and lead us in ceremony to connect with the energy here.
Towards the end of our journey we will enjoy a special farewell dinner together as well as a powerful closing ceremony with Miguel. We then return to Merida where we can reflect on our transformative spiritual journey together, enjoy some final shopping, and prepare ourselves for our flights home.
