Tour Description

Ancient texts describe temples as places where a person is “transformed into a god, into a bright star.” If so, then the enigmatic temples of the Yucatán fulfill that promise, and then some.

Learning the deeper meanings of the temples and pyramids

On this peninsula stand ancient academies originally set up by dedicated groups of wisdom keepers to promulgate the spiritual elevation of those on a quest for personal transformation. Their teachings embody a cult of knowledge stemming from a remote Golden Age.

For this adventure, we will be working with two of the most powerful Maya symbols: the Jaguar, representing the hidden knowledge and esoteric mysteries that can only be accessed through higher consciousness; and the Serpent, representing the sacred knowledge available to a person on a path of initiation that leads to wisdom.

We journey through and experience these teachings from the ceremonial center of Oxkintok, to the “Temples of the Sacred Mantras” at Edzna, the Great Palace at Ek Balam, the Cosmic Maya University of Chichen Itza, the sacred feminine energy centre of Uxmal, and many more powerful ancient sites.

Each temple was designed to embody an essential spiritual teaching forming a library in stone. The seeker distills the knowledge, experiences the subtle forces of the site, then continues to the next, raising their vibration along the way. In pursuing this knowledge of the gods one achieves the full potential of the soul. To quote Miguel Angel Vergara, “The Maya Masters of Light studied deeply the mysteries of the infinite cosmos. In the eyes of the Jaguar they saw the light of creation. In the flight of the Feathered Serpent they created the calendars representing space, time, and movement. Science in union with the heart, technology in union with intuition."

After breakfast, we will have introductions from our tour leaders before setting out for the day.

We will leave Merida and travel to the Aktun-Uzil cave near Oxkintok for our opening ceremony. Following the ceremony, we will enjoy a picnic lunch before visiting the archaeological site of Oxkintok. Once a major ceremonial center, it features a unique building with an interior labyrinth of tunnels, which were once used for the highest level of initiation known as 'living resurrection.' According to legend, this is also a portal connecting with Egypt through the sacred geometry and mathematics used in the Maya calendars. Oxkintok translates as Where Three Suns Continuously Burn. It is connected to Sirius, Orion, and Pleiades.

Our time in Oxkintok will be followed by a drive to the lovely Hotel Tucan Siho Playa, located on a quiet and beautiful beach in Campeche.

(Overnight at the beach in Campeche at Tucan Siho Playa or similar)

Oxkintok

After breakfast, enjoy the short drive to Edzna. The Maya Name Edznah, means: "The House of the Sacred Mantra's".

We enter through the Museum of the Maya Stelas where, carved in Stone are the Royal Presence of the Maya Teachers of the Light, the Care Takers or Guardians of this special Maya Center. Here we can do a spiritual connection with them before going deeper into Edznah where we perform a Maya Ceremony, asking permission of the Spiritual Guardians to be admitted into the site, protected and guided during our stay.

The great palace of Edznah and its main Temple-Complex. This was the area where the Maya Priests and Priestesses, sang the Sacred Mantras to link spiritually with the Divine Forces of the Creation called: Heart of Sky and Heart of the Earth. This area of the Palace still contains of the numerous Maya Calendar Symbols related with the Sun, Moon, Mars, Venus, and Jupiter and the Maya Month and Day glyphs. We complete our visit at the beautiful temple of the 2 Suns, modeled in stucco, one Sun representing the SUNRISE and the other the SUNSET, still with some original color.

Return to our hotel on the beach and enjoy an evening sunset ceremony with Miguel Angel and Freddy, followed by dinner.

Sacred site of Edzná in Mexico

After breakfast, depart for the beautiful Hacienda Uxmal. After checking in and an early lunch, we have the whole afternoon to explore Uxmal.

Just a short walk from the Hacienda stands Uxmal, one of the jewels of Yucatán. Freddy and Miguel will provide detailed explanations as we explore the site. According to legend, Uxmal was “a cosmic city that descended from the fourth dimension to amaze the eyes of humankind.” This is a fabulous temple city boasting several pyramids and sacred plazas with highly decorated façades. We’ll enjoy a full day of exceptional walking in a site that is lightly visited. This City of Kindness of Mother Moon carries strong sacred feminine energy, where women were educated to be priestesses and served in the temples, teaching the next generation to access the Sacred Knowledge. The people of Uxmal developed a great sense of intuitive skills, gaining a high level of spirituality in their lives. Beauty, poetry, dance, and the other arts were developed here.

Afterwards, we return to our hotel where you can enjoy dinner on your own. And an outdoor swimming pool is there to enjoy.

City of Kindness of Mother Moon

After breakfast, a short drive takes us to Labnah, a handsome ceremonial centre with its fascinating arched entrance, and an air of the Far East, because there is a strong Cambodian feel to the architecture. Labnah is connected with the Wisdom Walls of Mother IxCheel. Here the Maya teachers carved great symbols in the temple walls in red cinnabar. The entrance arch is a portal in itself, connecting to other dimensions.

Labnah features one of the most significant observatories where the Mayas studied the cosmos, including the Sun, Moon, and Venus. These cosmic cycles are part of the extensive cosmological knowledge passed down to us through the Sacred Maya Calendars. There's also an opportunity to walk one of the many zak-be — spirit roads reflecting the path of the Milky Way. These white serpent roads once connected all sites throughout the region in ruler-straight lines.

After a late lunch in Uxmal, we continue to our hotel in Valladolid.

(Overnight in Valladolid at Hotel Meson del Marques or similar)

Labnah and Kabah

This morning drive to the beautiful temple of Ek Balam, with its pyramid and initiation chamber. This is the City of the White Temple of Wisdom, Sak-Xok-Nah. The great Jaguar Prophets from the stars designed the city of Ek Balam (Star Jaguar) to teach us the Mystery of the Hidden Knowledge in the universe.  Climbing the Great Palace, you will see the seven Jaguar Maya Teachers from the Stars and receive a unique spiritual teaching from each one of them.

Afterwards, continue to Cenote Saamal for a late lunch and refreshing swim. Return to our hotel in Valladolid for a free evening to stroll around the square or relax back at the hotel.

(Overnight in Valladolid at Hotel Meson del Marques or similar)

Ek Balam

After breakfast, check-out an enjoy the one hour drive to Chichen Itza. Chichen Itza is one of the 7 wonders of the modern world; a cosmic university where one connects with the science, art, philosophy and spirituality of the Maya. This ancient school attracted students, initiates, and teachers from all over the Maya world. They graduated as AH-KUKUULKANS, masters of great knowledge and balance of spirit, science, knowledge and intuition. Today the Seven Golden Doors wait for you to open the Sacred Wisdom of the Feathered Serpent with the Light of the Sun.

Lunch on own at the site, then drive the remaining 1 hour and 45 min to Merida.

(Overnight in Merida at El Castellano Hotel or similar)

Chichen Itza

After breakfast, travel to the amazing Maya city of Izamal, known for its yellow colonial buildings. It grew up around a number of Maya pyramids, and our first stop will be to visit an amazing Convent of San Antonio, built on the base of one of these pyramids right in the heart of the city.

Izamal was founded by Lord Izamna who came to the Yucatan to teach the ancient knowledge of Atlantis. In ancient times, before Atlantis fell, a great Master, Izamna, was chosen to select advanced ones to travel with him to the Yucatan where he built the first city, Izamal. He created a powerful Spiritual Center where pilgrimages from all parts of the Land of the Maya came to see him and receive the Sacred Knowledge and healings for their bodies, souls and spirits. Itzamna is the Lord who had the Light Wisdom in his right hand to open the path to the Sacred Cosmic Energy.

We will have our final ceremony at Pyramid Itzamatul, followed by a traditional Yucatecan Farewell lunch at Kinich Itzamal.

We’ll finish our visit to Izamal at Pyramid Kinich Kakmo, a huge pyramid dedicated to the Mayan sun god, Kinich Ahau. Standing at the top, you can enjoy views of the surrounding town and the Convent. Return to our hotel in Merida.
