According to Statistician Nic Marks, with the Centre for Well-Being, the 5 practices for happiness are: 1) connect socially, 2) be active, 3) be mindful, 4) keep learning, 5) be generous.
We all do this as part of sacred travel so these age-old truths may seem obvious to us, on a personal level, but Nic Marks’ eloquent TED speech, about the need for a Happy Planet Index, will hopefully awaken the larger community as a whole. Science just may be catching up.
I invite you to take a minute to listen to Nic’s call for society to measure our lives in better ways. And, guess which country has the highest ranking on the Happy Planet Index? It’s probably not who you think it is. The future looks interesting…
