Ibiza is a new destination for Sacred Earth Journeys and we’re very excited about our September 13-20, 2014 Retreat: Yoga Isla Ibiza with Karen Heaps. The island of Ibiza, declared a Unesco World Heritage site in 1999, is situated in the Mediterranean Sea, 79 km off the coast of Valencia in Spain. It is the third largest of the Balearic Islands and an autonomous community of Spain.

Enjoying a beautiful Mediterranean climate – with September being a perfect time to visit – Ibiza enjoys natural and cultural diversity, with long sandy beaches, sophisticated cities and lush, enchanting countryside as well as global influences from Nepal, Thailand, Bali and beyond. Today Ibiza is well known as a mecca for yoga and wellness retreats.
Our Balinese Yoga Deck |
For centuries, in fact, Ibiza has been celebrated as a healing spiritual destination. Its rich red earth is traditionally believed to have magical properties, and it is easy to see why its landscape and natural beauty appeals to those of us seeking a rejuvenating, intentional retreat experience. Our setting for our Yoga Isla Ibiza retreat could not be more perfect: we will stay at Can Dream, a resort set on 20 acres of private ancient gardens and terraced woodland just 2kms delightful walk from the beach. Here we will practice morning yoga on a covered Balinese Yoga deck, take night-time tea next to sparkling fire-pits, meditate in the sunset garden, enjoy our meals at a magical outdoor table beneath flickering lanterns, swim in the stunning sea view pool, then sleep soundly in our calm, warmly minimal bedrooms under luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets.
