Tour Description

The Mayan Calendar predicts that the world will be transformed between 2011 and 2012. This Mayan prophecy coincides with the visions of the future Dannion Brinkley was shown in 1975 by Thirteen Beings of Light during a near-death experience. After years of endless research and study, Dannion has uncovered many similarities between his journeys to the ‘other side’ and the original writings of the ancients Americans.

Dannion and Mark Amaru Pinkham will lead you on an in-depth exploration of the ancient civilizations of the Mayans, Aztecs and Toltecs deep within the heart of the Americas, including a look at their different lifestyles and forms of religious worship, along with trips to their sacred spiritual sites. From the sandy beaches to the tropical mountains of Mexico, you will have the chance to rejuvenate your spirit while you reconnect with your sacred inner self.

Join us on this ultimate journey to discover how the past can be the guide to your future.

Transfer to your hotel on the beach, where the sea is clear, the sand is fine and the pleasures simple...a secluded hotel in Playa del Carmen, located on the Caribbean Sea with a white sandy beach where the only meaning is to swim in the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean, rock gently to sleep in hammocks on your private porch, and watch palms sway to soft ocean breezes. Time to rest a bit before the Welcome Dinner at the hotel.
Overnight: Playa del Carmen (1 night)

Day 2 : To Chichen Itza (B/L)
Departure to the great Mayan ceremonial center of Chichen Itza to experience the powerful energies of the world-famous "El Castillo", the Temple of Kukulcan. This archaeological city was founded by the Maya-Itzas, led by Itzamna, in 435-455 A.D. Chichen was occupied twice. The first occupation was from 495 to 692, and the second from 948 to 1204. The architecture of the first period is considered to be authentically Maya, and the second is considered to have Toltec influence, since it has certain elements in common with those found in Tula, the ancient capital of the Toltecs.
Those of the Classic Maya period, which covers the Seventh to Tenth centuries. In this group these buildings are found: The Nunnery and its annexes, the Akab Dzib, the Temple of the three lintels, the Red House , that of the Phallus and that of the Deer. In the Maya Toltec group constructed between the Tenth century and the Thirteenth century, we have the Castle, The Temple of the Warriors , the Ball Court, the Thousand Columns group, the Tzopantli, the Osary , the platforms of Venus and of the Tigers and of the Eagles. The Astronomical Observatory (Caracol) belongs to a transition phase. The city has as its main axis two cenotes , Xtoloc, which provided the city with water, and the Sacred Cenote, where offerings of maidens and children were made to the gods. It has a diameter of 60 meters with a depth of to the water of 12 meters. In 1900, the North American, Edward Thompson, who lived in the Hacienda Chichen extracted a multitude of objects from this cenote. Other explorers who studied Chichen were: Francisco Montejo, "The Advanced", the conqueror of Yucatan in 1527; Stephens and Caterwood, in 1841-42,; Le Plongeon in 1875; Maudslay, Maler and others took care of divulging this Maya city to the world.

Lunch at a local restaurant. Return to the hotel. Free time. Evening lecture with Dannion and Mark.

Overnight Merida.

Day 4 : To Palenque (B/D)
After breakfast we transfer to the airport for our flight to Palenque, situated in the foothills of the Tumbalá mountains of Chiapas, one of the most historic places in Mexico, a state with a rich cultural heritage, an indigenous past and present, and a true enchantment that is the result of its people maintaining their past while making way for the future. The name Chiapas is derived from the Nahuatl words "Chia" (a seed used to create a regional drink) and "apan," or river; the name literally means "in the river of chia." Pre-Hispanic influences here include Maya, Toltec, and Olmec. Arrive at your hotel, a grouping of comfortable, roomy air-conditioned bungalows that offer privacy and quiet in the surroundings of a tropical forest. The grounds are beautifully tended, and there is an inviting pool made to look like a lagoon. A broad stream runs through the property. The hotel is on the road to the ruins, midway between the ruins and the town. Check in. Lunch on your own.

Afternoon visit to Palenque. Situated on a ledge overlooking the swampy plains that stretch northward all the way to the Gulf coast, Palenque is seemingly situated between two worlds, giving it a mystical enchanting charm. This ancient Maya site, located at the western frontier of the lowland Maya region, possibly derives its name from a nearby village of Santo Domingo de Palenque, founded in the 17th century. This locale flourished between 600 and 800 A.D., when it served as the political center of the Mayan region. The Temple of Palenque’s original Mayan name is NAH CHAN, which means “The House of the Snake”. Return to the hotel. Group Dinner.
Overnight: Palenque (3 nights)

Day 5 : In Palenque (B/D)
Morning return to Palenque. The flood plain of the Usumacinta to the north provided Palenque's ancient inhabitants with the resources to construct their extraordinary city. The architecture of Palenque was truly inventive. By reducing the massive weight of the traditional corbel arch through reducing its span with a dividing wall and the use of tribolated hollows that minimized the stress on load bearing walls, the builders were able to construct buildings with multiple piers and doorways on the front to let air and light into the interior.

Palenque is home to the Mayan Culture Bearer and Avatar Pakal Votan. The Mayan Elders believe that in his time this Mayan teacher was as important as Buddha, Krishna, Tao the Elder, and Jesus Christ. He performed healing miracles, just as these teachers did. Here you will explore with Dannion and Mark: Who was Pakal Votan? What was his mission? Why did he master so many sciences? Did he come from another planet? Why did his body hold a sphere and a cube? Why did he have such a big influence in Mayan culture and spirituality? Does he continue his communication with us today?

The most notable structures of Palenque are the Palace and the Temple of the Inscriptions, where Pakal's remains were found in the largest and most magnificent grave built on the American continent before white men came. Mayan Elders believe that there is a psycho-duct or magic conduit that comes out of the coffin in the shape of a snake that is made of lime and white stones. This hollow mold goes along the stairway and ends vertically under the perforated tombstone that marks the end of the stairway's entrance, on the floor of the temple. They believe it was used for permanent communication with Pakal Votan, so that his messages could always be heard by his Mayan people, through the priests. And, in turn, the priests could use it to communicate with him. You might want to sit here and meditate. Ask him to let you enter the dimension where he is, so that he may teach you Mayan wisdom. Place your hands in one or more of the twelve holes, so that you may receive information from Pakal Votan, the Messenger of Time.

To the right you will see Temple B, the site of a recently discovered burial site of a royal citizen, who is accompanied in burial by a woman and a child. Continue on to the incredible Palace, with its unique watchtower, where explorer John Stevens camped when it was completely covered by jungle in the 1840s as he underwent the task of uncovering the ruins. Follow the pathway between the Palace and the Temple of the Inscriptions to reach the Temple of the Sun and the Temple of the Foliated Cross, the Temple of the Cross and Temple 14, a set of temples was built by Pacal's son, Chan-Bahlum. His historical ascendance to the throne is shown in the inscriptions, as is the fact that he seems to have had six toes!

Return to the hotel for lunch on your own. Afternoon lectures with Dannion and Mark. Group Dinner.
Overnight Palenque.

Day 6 : Visit to Toninah (B/L)
Full day visit to Toninah, on the border of the Mayan lowlands and highlands, nestled 2,950 ft.; you may see the clouds roll in and stand above you! Thought to be built by an astronomical society, the area belongs to the lowland tradition of the Maya people. The center of Toninah is built on the side of a large hill in seven terraces, producing the overall effect of a stepped pyramid. Mayan Priests say that each level corresponds to one of the seven human chakras. For this reason, they believe that one of the main functions here was to give the Initiation of the Seven Chakras. Numerous chambers and passageways exist here. According to Catherwood and Stephens, who made the first investigations here in modern times, they heard a legend about a connecting tunnel between Toninah and Palenque. They found the tunnel, and when trying to go through it, they met a ferocious and noisy family of eagles. They felt afraid and decided not to continue their trip. Some of the Mayan Elders believe that perhaps they were not allowed to pass through the tunnel by the Mayan spiritual keepers because they were not initiates.
Late afternoon return to the hotel. Dinner on your own.

Overnight Palenque.
