Detailed Itinerary
|
|
|
Day
1: Our first two days together will be focused on beliefs
and perceptions |
|
Participant are asked to bring 5 or 6 existing photographs
that resonate for them. These may be old family photos or photos you have made
more recently or even something from a magazine. Notice the images/objects that
you have in your environment, on your fridge or desk, and reflect on why you
appoint these. Why do you like these images? What do they symbolize for you. Ask
for guidance in choosing images that represent who you believe you are today.
On the lush tropical Eastern side of the island, we will begin day one by
greeting the rising sun overlooking the vastness of the ocean; bringing light to
our emotions, our awakening. Following our birdsong accompanied breakfast on the
terrace, we will have a group discussion about our perceptions of ourselves and
the world around us which we will continue to touch into throughout the journey.
The function of the brain and the collective unconscious in interpreting our
sensory perceptions will be examined experientially through various activities.
We will then spend the afternoon, cameras in hand, exploring the Lava Tree State
Park to begin to find re-presentation in nature of our own gifts and limiters.

Day 2: Focused on
our beliefs and perceptions |
On our second day we will continue to merge the
linear "word" that we use to express our gifts and limiters with the intuitive
"image". Our travels take us to the Onomea Tropical Forest and Akaka Falls to
explore and cultivate your personal symbology. In the evening we will have a
discussion about our beliefs; what we have "bought into" about ourselves and
what it is to be YOU. You are asked to bring a journal to record your
discoveries throughout the process.
Accommodation: Kalani Ho'nua |

 |
|
| Day 3:
A day in the Volcano |
The third day we will begin to move inward through
our layers and acknowledge how changes come about. Visually and emotionally, we
will be "in the volcano". Within the environment of the Volcano National Park,
one can see the results of constant change and how allowing death of one thing
gives birth to another. Consider what you will offer to the volcano; what you
are willing to let go of.
Accommodation: Kealakekua Bay for the remainder of the retreat.

|
| Day 4: The Golden Coast, Peace Garden
and Place of Refuge |
By the fourth day we will have reached the other
side, the West side of the island, the "golden" coast were we will PLAY! Water
play mostly which may include a "consultation" from the dolphins as they are
willing. Making photographic images below the surface for our symbology allows
us to see things differently; to recognize the amazing richness of the otherwise
invisible realms. Bring your own snorkel gear or it can be rented in town. In
the afternoon we will visit the Place of Refuge and create images of your own
"safe" places while you are grounded in the earth element. After dinner, you
have the evening to yourself for journalling, questions and/or quiet time.
Energy healing and massage sessions are also available on request.
In the afternoon we will visit the Peace Garden and Place of Refuge where you
will create images that calm your mind and allow you to release clutter. These
images will be the ones you call upon for "safety" and grounding whenever you
feel challenged. After dinner, you have the evening to yourself for journalling,
questions and/or quiet time. Energy healing and massage sessions are also
available on request. |

 |
|
|
Day 5:
Travel through varied landscapes |
On our last full day together you will set your
creation to how you will manifest your gifts, and your connection with the
Divine. We will travel through varied landscapes that offer "something for
everyone" to reflect upon and create intuitive images from. We will meet with
the sun again at the end of this day as it takes its last breath into the west
and allow ourselves to breath in all that we have accomplished in this journey.
Film and digital images will be processed in Kona in the evening and be
available for you to map out your symbology on day six.. |
|
|
| Day
6: Tours ends |
| As a group, we will give life to our experiences
and acknowledge the path that each one of us has co-created and how you can
"turn your life into the gorgeous curiosity it was meant to be" by detaching
yourself from the past and moving into the future. |
|
| Both digital and conventional cameras are welcome and it is
recommended that you have a variety of focal lengths available to you to aid you
in seeing things in a different way. I would suggest a macro capability and
something between 135- 200mm telephoto would be appropriate. However, the
experience is just as powerful, if not moreso, with a simple point and
shoot/disposable camera. Underwater cameras will be supplied. Bring enough
film/cards for the session (colour or black and white), hats, sunscreen, good
walking shoes and your journal. |
